What do I do if I have residual fixative left in the mouth?

Rinsing in warm water or a warm saline solution (salt water) should remove any remaining fixative. If residual fixative still remains, ask your pharmacist for liquid paraffin (food grade mineral oil). Using a little on a cotton bud , or as a mouthrinse, will help to remove any residue from the mouth. If you wear your dentures at night do not apply any fixative as this enables the mouth tissues to interact with the saliva and this helps to keep them in a healthy state.
